Aubrey ISD Police Department

Aubrey ISD maintains its own police department. The department is led by Police Chief Kayla Elizalde. She oversees a department of six officers. Every campus is manned by a full-time officer.

Meet the Department

Officer Kayla Elizalde

Chief Kayla Elizalde

Chief Elizalde was named Aubrey ISD police department chief of police in November 2024. She began her career with the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office in 2012 after completing the Police Academy at Kilgore College in 2011. She held various positions, including deputy sheriff, dispatcher and jailer. She joined the Aubrey ISD Police Department as a police officer in July 2020 and was elevated to the role of sergeant in November 2023. In two instances, she served as the interim police chief in Aubrey ISD.

In addition, Chief Elizalde holds numerous certifications, including Advanced Peace Officer and Advanced School-Based Law Enforcement Officer.

Officer Ben Adcock begins his first year with the Aubrey ISD police department.

Officer Mike Hardin

Officer Mike Hardin

Officer Mike Hardin begins his third year with the Aubrey ISD police department. He worked with the Addison police department for 26 years. He also worked with the Dallas Sheriff's department. Most recently, he served as an officer in Jamaica Beach, Texas.
